This compact canister earns its keep in real homes for above-floor cleaning and fine-debris pickup, thanks to strong suction and a motor that lasts. You'll trade some attachment quality for that reliability, as the plastic tools feel flimsier and the wand connection often slips.
Loved by buyers
- •Strong suction handles fine debris like flour without blowback, thanks to exhaust HEPA filter.
- •Shoulder strap and 5.5-lb weight make it easy to carry around the house or to the car.
- •Durable motor lasts over a decade with basic maintenance.
Buyer concerns
- •Attachment wand slips off the hose connection during use, often needing tape to stay put.
- •Plastic tools feel flimsy compared to older Oreck models.
- •Redesigned hose grip is straight and slippery, less comfortable for extended cleaning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this vacuum work on carpets?+
No, it's designed for hard floors and above-floor cleaning. Several owners confirm it struggles on carpet and is best used for bare floors and surfaces.
How loud is it?+
It's louder than many handheld vacuums, but most users find the noise acceptable given the strong suction. One review notes it has improved slightly from older Oreck models.
Can I use it to clean my car?+
Yes, the long cord and shoulder strap make it easy to vacuum car interiors, though you'll need an outlet nearby. Many owners use it as a car vac.
Are the bags easy to find?+
Yes, the same bags as older Oreck models are widely available online and at many stores, and they're reasonably priced.
Is the HEPA filter washable or replaceable?+
The HEPA filter module is replaceable, not washable. It snaps over the exhaust port and helps trap fine particles. Aftermarket HEPA bags are also an option.
