Most owners agree this canister vacuum cleans carpets and hard floors thoroughly and runs quietly enough that even noise-sensitive pets don't mind. The main trade-off is that the powerful motorized brush makes the wand noticeably heavier, so it can be a chore on stairs or when cleaning above the floor.
Loved by buyers
- •Quiet operation that allows normal conversation and doesn't spook pets.
- •Auto-suction setting that automatically adjusts power between bare floors and rugs, preventing rug edges from being sucked up.
- •Sealed bagged system with HEPA filtration that captures fine dust and pet hair without blowing musty air back into the room.
Buyer concerns
- •The motorized carpet head is bulky and heavy, making it a struggle to carry up and down stairs.
- •The power brush motor has a history of early failure for some owners, and out-of-warranty repairs can cost over $300.
- •The plastic accessory cover feels flimsy and can pop open unexpectedly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the vacuum quiet?+
Yes, it's one of the quietest vacuums you can buy. Owners report they can hold a conversation while running it, and even noise-phobic pets don't run away.
How does it handle pet hair on carpets and upholstery?+
The electrobrush powerhead with five height settings digs deep into carpet fibers to pull out embedded pet hair. For upholstery, the included tool works okay, but many owners opt for the mini turbo brush for best results.
How long is the power cord and what is the cleaning radius?+
The cord is 30 feet long, giving you a wide reach before you need to switch outlets. Combined with the hose and wand, you can cover a large area.
Does the vacuum come with a HEPA filter and how often do I need to replace it?+
Yes, it includes a HEPA filter that traps 99.999% of particles. The HEPA filter is designed to last about a year with normal use, though frequency depends on usage. The motor filter and bag also need periodic replacement.
Is the vacuum easy to use on stairs?+
No, the heavy motorized head and wand make stairs awkward. Miele sells a lightweight aluminum wand without the electrical connection that helps, but for primarily stair cleaning, consider a lighter model.
