Best for
A good pick for mixed-surface homes with pets where strong suction and a handy upholstery tool matter more than a truly self-cleaning brushroll or lightweight design. Skip it if you need a vacuum that’s easy to carry up stairs or want a mess-free bin for allergy control.

Most owners agree this Kenmore canister delivers powerful suction across carpet, hard floors, and pet hair. The trade-off: the hair eliminator brushroll often falls short with long pet hair, and the canister’s weight and messy bin emptying can be a hassle.
Loved by buyers
- •Powerful suction that pulls up embedded pet hair and fine dust from carpets and rugs.
- •The motorized Pet PowerMate tool makes quick work of fur on sofas and chairs.
- •Adjustable settings let you move from hard floors to high-pile carpet without losing performance.
Buyer concerns
- •Long pet hair tangles around the brushroll, and the much-advertised hair eliminator doesn’t always prevent it.
- •The canister is heavy and drags awkwardly over carpets, making whole-house cleaning tiring.
- •Opening the dust cup over a trash can often releases a dust cloud, which is a problem for allergy sufferers.
