Most owners agree this canister vacuum delivers excellent suction for pet hair and a sealed bag system that traps allergens and odors, but a number of units fail at the hose connection. The trade-off is accepting a clunky, corded canister design with a known weak point in exchange for strong cleaning performance on carpets and hard floors.
Loved by buyers
- •Pulls embedded pet hair from thick carpet in a single pass.
- •Sealed HEPA bag system contains all dust and dander, eliminating the dog smell problem common with bagless vacs.
- •Motorized pet upholstery tool quickly cleans fur from furniture and stairs.
Buyer concerns
- •Hose connection can detach and spark, a recurring safety defect that has affected multiple units.
- •Canister's rear wheels only roll forward, making it cumbersome to pull around furniture.
- •Storage compartment lids pop open too easily when moving the vacuum, and the plastic hinges break.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the cord?+
The cord stretches 26 feet, which most owners tell us is long enough to cover an entire great room or large open area from one outlet. The retraction mechanism works most of the time but can be finicky.
How often do I need to change the bag?+
In a home with multiple pets and daily use, the HEPA bag can last about a month before filling up. A full-bag indicator light on the canister lets you know when it's time.
Does the power head work on hardwood floors?+
Yes, the power head has a foot-tap switch that changes from carpet to hard floor mode. The included bare floor tool also handles wood and tile without scattering debris.
Can I clean stairs with this vacuum?+
The main power head is too large for most stairs, so you'll use the motorized pet tool or crevice tool instead. The pet tool does a great job on pet hair, but the process is slower than with an upright or stick vac on stairs.
How loud is it?+
It's louder than many canister vacuums, especially with the motorized power head engaged. If noise is a dealbreaker, this model may not be the best pick.
